my secret passions
It might surprise you, blog readers, but I'm secretly really into fashion. Mostly the totally ridiculous, over the top haute couture kind of stuff. I'm even taking a fashion photography class right now.
I want to make bucketfuls of money only because I long to wear the late great Alexander McQueen's gowns.
Check out images from yesterdays Dior couture show.By way of John Galliano. Fabulous.

homework
I'm reading about Aztec art. It is some amazing stuff. Most of it was destroyed by the Spaniards. They had very elaborate gold and silver work that Spaniards melted down to make dumb stuff like coins.
Albrecht Durer said of the objects, "I have never seen in all my days that which so rejoiced my heart."
A rare saved page from the Codex Borgia
Coatlicue-The Goddess of Earth and Death.
She has a skirt made of serpents and jets of blood. She wears a necklace of amputated hands and hearts.
The myth goes that when Coatlicue was attacked and her head was servered off, her unborn child, Huitzilopochtli, rose from her severed trunk fully grown and armed.
Pretty badass stuff.
Coatlicue reminded me of this piece by Alexander McQueen.

found objects
I stumbled upon a sign thinking it was an abandoned sign asking for money, but this is what it said
If a homeless person was holding this sign I think I would give them money.
I don't think it is a good idea to have the Lost number on your car because it feels like you are really tempting fate.
I was loving this old school packaging.

Madhouse
Back to school. My least favorite thing might be the stalking predators as I walk to my car after class. You'll get a spot when you get one! Stop harassing people. Like I can even find my car in the first place.
As a kid, I always wanted a trapper keeper but never got one. Now my dreams are fulfilled. And I look like a big dork.

somewhere
Watched Sofia Coppola's new film Somewhere. She recently said, “I try to go with what I’m interested in and not think too much about it. There are enough ways of talking yourself out of doing something.”
I'm pretty crazy about her work.
Speaking of crazy, I went to grocery outlet and got the craziest things I could find to snack on. Despite Gabe continuously telling me that it is alive, the Asian Pear and Ginger Kombucha is the only thing I would get again.
