The 2011 Great Mineral Water taste-off

New piece that can be seen at Center for Contemporary Art, Sacramento starting next weekend
Going into battle with a giant fork and lace strap
I've become a water snob. Ever since I got to use a machine that carbonates water for a week, normal water just won't do. So I bought a few different kinds to try this week.
Pretty good
I tend to prefer Perrier, but the lime in this one somehow reminds me of cleaning product
"Doesn't that mean Mole Man?" Fitting. Not very good
The infamous soda club machine. I might just have to invest in one

gelato

The spot that used to house Le Petite has been taunting me everyday with the promise of Gelato. And today it finally opened.
Divine Gelateria & Cafe on Capitol at 19th
They were very very nice and allowed us to try nearly every flavor.
I ended up just getting my standby- coconut
They use 100% compostable cups.

let's eat snacks

Angela might possibly be the most delightful person on the planet
She draws me pictures like these at work. And after work we finally took in some snacks and a movie.
My guy whipped me up some potato bacon tacos when I was in need of food.
I sure feel lucky sometimes.

good company

I forgot to mention that The Best Summer Ever Band was nominated for a Sammie! I think we were all pretty shocked. I didn't know that was something that could happen.
Here is the clipping:

Zaireeka

When Jay and Natalie bought pre-order tickets to the Flaming Lips they also got a life size skull made entirely of gummy. They held a Zaireeka party to help them get through it.

Zaireeka is a four-CD album which is intended to be heard by playing all four CDs in four separate CD players simultaneouslyThe Maxwells trying to determine which had a closer match to the skull
Cutting into the strawberry skull and into the weed flavored brain
In the center was a flash drive full of exclusive material.
Listening to Zaireeka the way it was meant to be heard was pretty trippy.

follow your dreams

After talking about following dreams and just going for what you want, this appeared on the sidewalk

This Pegasus confirmed our thoughts
We decided our small goal was to find the Patti Smith and The Springsteen album we have been needing.
Then we made our dreams come true and got some Magpie along the way. Living the dream!
Dear Magpie,
You are delicious. Thanks for the cookies!
xoxo
